'Sex' parties in the City
Carrie look-alikes of all ages, sizes and eras dotted Monday night's Radio City Music Hall world premiere of Warner Bros./New Line's "Sex and the City 2" along with Carrie herself, Sarah Jessica Parker and cohorts Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall, Chris Noth and John Corbett.
After playing the romantic fashionista on and off for a dozen years, Parker has no identity issues.
"The beauty is that she's not me and that's what I adore about her," Parker said at the Middle Eastern-style tent after-party at Lincoln Center. "She is this other person in this alternate universe and she gets to live this adventurous, thrilling, messy life."
"I wanted this to be fun, big laughs, go on vacation with the girls," said writer-director-producer Michael Patrick King, who also wanted "to make a big Hollywood movie with a current thought about tradition."
Partygoer Guy Pearce found "Sex," "better than the first one. It's funnier. Rather than struggling with whether they're going to get together or not, they handled married life and questions about it really well."
