Tim Burton asks Twitter users to write script

Stainboy_boffo

"Alice in Wonderland" director Tim Burton has unveiled a Twitter script project called Cadavre Exquis, or "Exquisite Corpse," which the helmer explains "is a technique used to collectively tell a story."

The social media project, which can be read here on the "Corpse" website, asks Twitter users to build an adventure story about Stainboy, a character who appeared in Burton's book of poems "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories" as well as a few animated shorts in 2000.

Here's the original tweet:

Stainboy, using his obvious expertise, was called in to investigate mysterious glowing goo on the gallery floor #BurtonStory

It's still unclear what will become of Stainboy's Twitter tale (doubt Johnny Depp has time for this one) but since it is Tim Burton, you can be sure nothing goes to waste.

Burton's Cadavre Exquis project runs from November 22nd thru December 6th.

Joss Whedon ain't too happy with 'Buffy' news

Joss_whedon "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator Joss Whedon isn't exactly thrilled with the idea of another "Buffy" movie.

After Warner Bros. announced its plans today to reboot the teenage vampire series, Whedon, who wrote the 1992 feature before going on to create and shepherd the popular TV spinoff, said he had "strong, mixed emotions" about the project.

"I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER," he said in a statement to E! online. "I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill."

Whit Anderson will pen the new "Buffy" for Warner Bros. with Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Steve Alexander producing along with Doug Davison and Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment.

Whedon is currently developing Marvel's superhero actioner "The Avengers" at Paramount.
