Michael Bay tells Ninja Turtles haters to ‘chill'
Michael Bay is not out to destroy your childhood memories, this according to a new thread from the big-budget filmmaker.
After word broke of another “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie, produced by Bay, the guy who voiced Michaelangelo (a.k.a. the ‘Party Dude’) in the TMNT movies took to Facebook and slammed the filmmaker for “sodomizing” the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand and causing “the rape of our childhood memories.” (Bodacious imagery, dude!)
Bay, who was also behind the massive adaption of popular 80s toys, “The Transformers,” has gone on the defensive, telling fans of the hit 90s toy brand to relax.
In a new forum thread on his blog, Bay writes:
Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.
The TMNT movie, set up at Paramount, is set for a 2013 release.

Lionsgate's hot 'Hunger Games' preems in L.A.
LOS ANGELES -- “The Hunger Games” preem at L.A. Live on Monday brought a feeling of deja vu to producer Nina Jacobson .
“This level of excitement and anticipation take me back to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ premieres when I was at Disney,” she said. “I barely believe it. And it’s astonishing that we’re here three years after we started.”
Josh Hutcherson was in energetic form during the Lionsgate pre-screening festivities — eliciting a big laugh moments before the screening started by stepping on the train of Jennifer Lawrence ’s gold lame dress as the stars were walking off the stage.
Hutcherson’s been a part of film’s mall tour for a week and was headed out to Berlin, Paris and London to tubthump. “I’m flying to Europe at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Right now, it’s a little bit of a blur.”
Director Gary Ross , flashing his usual grin, offered effusive thanks to the cast and Lawrence — “I thank God for her every day” — and to series author Suzanne Collins .
“She’s out there hiding in her favorite position of anonymity,” he added.
