VIDEO: Marion Cotillard praises 'Lies' director

Tifflogonew Marion Cotillard, who used to act alongside "Little White Lies" helmer Guillaume Canet, discusses the French thesp's transition into directing at the Variety Studio.

Cotillard stars in "Lies," which tells the story of a group of friends dealing with life and loss at an annual retreat. Pic premiered on Saturday in Toronto.

Canet last directed the 2006 acclaimed thriller "Tell No One."

TIFF 2010: Schnabel tweaks 'Miral'

Tifflogo "Miral" director Julian Schnabel stopped by the Variety Lounge today for a video interview (will be posted tomorrow).

After our chat, the "Diving Bell and the Butterfly" helmer admitted that the film had been edited "much differently" since debuting in Venice. 

The Weinstein Company pic, which stars Freida Pinto and three other women under Israeli occupation, premieres tonight in Toronto.

"Super," which was just acquired by IFC, stars Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page and tells the story of a loner (Wilson) who tries to become a superhero after his wife leaves him.

Tifflogo  Director Charles Ferguson ("No End in Sight") discusses Wall St. documentary "Inside Job" at the Variety Studio in Toronto.

The Matt Damon-narrated doc, which kicked off the Toronto Festival's documentary slate on Thursday, details the United States' current financial and economic meltdown.

Sony Pictures Classics will release "Inside Job" in October.
